This course is designed to teach basic skills and techniques needed to make great tasting Local and International finger foods

This course is a combination of lectures, demonstrations and practical hands-on cookery sessions where students would be taught the art of food presentation and how to prepare various classic finger foods with a modern twist.

This 6 day course is designed to teach basic skills and techniques needed to make great tasting Local and International finger foods with the perfect dips, sauces and sides to go with them.

This course is a combination of lectures, demonstrations and practical hands-on cookery sessions where students would be taught the art of food presentation and how to prepare various classic finger foods with a modern twist.

This class would teach you varying skills and techniques of Pizza and Shawarma and how to top and fill them up with various toppings and fillings.

You will learn how to make a Pizza from scratch, choose how you want your crust and make Authentic Italian Tomato Sauce for Pizza, you also have the option of topping your Pizza with Toppings of your choice ranging from, Pepperoni, MeatBalls, Salami, Smoked Ham, Cooked Ham, Chorizo, Smoked Turkey, Barbeque Chicken, Mushrooms, Olives, Vegetables and Cheese

You will also Learn how to master making great quality restaurant style Chicken and Beef Shawarma

Chinese Cuisine

This course is an informative hands-on introduction to Chinese cooking and the wonderful array of Chinese cooking ingredients used in crafting authentic Chinese dishes.

The course is a combination of lectures, demonstrations and practical hands-on cookery sessions and is designed to teach essential cooking and presentation skills.

Students would learn how to prepare a standard 3-course Chinese meal at the end of the course.

Awaken the Chef in you as you Embark on a Culinary World Tour of fun and adventure. Learn how to make, combine, create and plate meals from around the world. There would be lectures on Nutrition, Kitchen craft, Culinary Terms, Uses of Culinary Herbs and Spices and Demonstrations on Knife skills.

This Practical Hands-on Class is divided into 5 Modules;

 

MODULE 1: Aromatic Asia

Chinese: Special Chinese Fried Rice, Mai fun, Beef and Broccoli

Indian: Chicken Jalfrezi, Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Pilaf

Thai: Stir Fried Vermicelli Glass Noodles, Thai Fried Rice

Vietnamese: Pho

 

MODULE 2: A Taste of Europe

Italian: Lasagne, Ravioli, Spaghetti Bolognese and Italian Meatballs, Bruschetta

French: Croque Monsieur, Salad Nicoise

British: Shepherd’s Pie

MODULE 3: Flavors of The Americas and The Caribbean

Jamaican: Rice and Peas, Jerk Chicken, Brown chicken Stew, Jamaican Goat Curry

American: Sloppy Joes, American Pancakes, Chicken and Waffles

Module 4: Global Food: This Focuses on Meals, Cocktails and Desserts that are globally popular;

Meals: Pizza (Pepperoni, Salami and Smoked Ham with Barbeque Chicken and Turkey Mortadella Pizza) Shawarma( Beef and Chicken) and Kebabs (Chicken, Beef and Seafood)

Breadmaking and Burgers: White Bread, Burger Bun, BBB Pulled Chicken Burger with Blue Cheese and Apple Coleslaw

Cocktails: Blue Hawaiian, Screwdriver, Mango Mojito, Long Island Ice Tea

Desserts:  Chocolate Mouse, Strawberry and Peach Mouse Verrine, Banana Split

Cakemaking; Chocolate Cake with Whipped Cream and Maraschino Cherries

Module 5: Fusion Cuisine: This focuses on combining elements of different culinary traditions without fitting into any one, it’s a cross-cultural culinary mash up that gives room for new innovations and exploring ones creativity, Modules 1-4 need to be taken before any student can take this Module and the recipes that will be treated would only be revealed after the 4 Modules have been undertaken.

At the end of all the Modules, students would undergo a Practical Examination and would be required to come up with their own creations which must be based on a fusion of all the Cuisines they have learnt.

The desserts that would be made are interesting classical favourites made with a modern twist. Students would learn how to prepare Cake based Desserts, Cold Sweets and Hot Sweets.

  • Amendments to our Course Manuals and Course Fees:  We reserve the right to make amendments to Content, Recipes and Price of all our Cookery Courses without notice.
  • Group Classes: The minimum number of students required for any Group Class to hold is 3. Please note that we would NOT hold any of our Group Cooking Classes if the number of students is below 3.
  • Application Requirements: You must be 18 years or over to attend all our cookery courses.
  • Skill Level: If you are unsure as to your skill requirements for a course, please call us so we can help ascertain your level of experience before booking. We rely on students being able to self assess their own skill level and are happy to assist with this but cannot be held liable if you book a course much higher or lower than your actual skill level. Please call us on (08068776127) if you are in doubt.
  • Health & Safety: All students should wear shoes with flat, non-slip soles and covered toes, preferably leather. We recommend wearing sensible clothing; not your best outfit – we are not liable for any damage that occurs to your clothing. Long hair must be tied back and covered in the kitchen.
  • Certification: Our Cookery Courses offer a certificate upon successful completion of a course. Successful completion of a course is determined by the Culinary Instructor based on learning progress, attitude and mastery of skill. Certificates are issued at the discretion of the Culinary Instructor.
  • Missed Classes: It is the student’s responsibility to attend classes according to the schedule, refund is not given for missed classes; it may be possible to make up a missed session by having a one-on-one class but it would incur an additional charge.
  • Course Rescheduling: The Sense of Taste Specialty Caterers reserves the right to reschedule any cooking class and will not accept liability for rescheduling.
  • Cancellation of Course after Payment of Course Fees: In the unlikely event of cancellation of a course by us, we undertake to offer a suitable transfer to an alternative date or a full refund (within 7 days) of any course fees. We cannot be held liable for any third-party costs, such as travel bookings or hotel accommodation. In the unlikely event of cancellation of a course by the student after payment has been made we will not offer any refund and would not be held liable for any third-party costs, such as travel bookings or hotel accommodation.
